Clubrooms Open Weekly

Our Clubroom are open on Friday evenings, complete with a bar and canteen facilities from 7:30pm onwards. Entry free for members (please remember to bring along your card!) and $5.00 for non-members. Open to all!

ADS Magazine Survey - CLOSED

Auckland Deaf Society would like to thank all who have taken their time to complete the survey. The draw for $100.00, which took place during the Xmas dinner on 5th December, has been won by Michael Brain.

ADS President visiting the Deaf Clubs in Argentina and Uruguay

On Friday 8 January 2010, my Argentinean friends took us to visit the main Deaf Club in Buenos Aires. It is called the “Asociacion de Sordomudos de Ayusa Mutua” (ASAM). The building was founded in 1912 and has three storeys in addition to the basement. We were warmly welcomed by the Secretary and some of the club committee members. Their club President was away on a one-month holiday. The Deaf Club is really an old building, very much like 1950s, but a big party will be held in 2012 to celebrate their Clubs 100th year’s anniversary. He said that the club has 400 members.

Newsletters are sent out to members at the beginning of each month, and there are many social, sporting and recreational groups you can join at ADS. 

Support the Auckland Deaf Community by joining ADS at a price of only $30.00 per year. However, if you are a new member or was not one in the previous year, a $20.00 joining fee is applicable. 

Fees commences on 1st January to 31st December, and includes children (under 16 years of age), Deaf, hearing impaired and hearing people.
