Hello everyone

Winter Quiz will be on 14th August 2010, see the flyer page 20.

Angela Sew Hoy and Julie-Anne Taylor represented the Northern delegates to attend the Deaf Sports Federation of NZ AGM at the ADS clubroom. Here is the summary report.
  • DSFNZ 50 years anniversary in 2013. DSFNZ were formed in 1963 at Wellington and the executive boards decided to hold celebrations in Wellington. We need volunteers from the Deaf community for the sub-committees for the 50 years celebration. Please email to Kellye info www.deafsports.co.nz
  • DSFNZ provided us a one hour training workshop on strategic plan/communication/marketing/funding plans/ board governance by Sport Waitakere Development Warren Ogilvie.
  • DSFNZ website will upgrade and improve update in the website. DSFNZ are making video clips, easy access for everyone in the vision with NZSL. New/revamped DSFNZ website will go live on the 20th August 2010.
  • Easy way than burning on a CD or use a USB stick for video clips.
  • Send files e.g. video clips, updates, contact details to Kellye
  •  ‘Tell a friend’ page on website to invite more people to DSFNZ website
  • Reminder notice:
DSFNZ membership deadline 31st May

15th July final date for membership to play at Labour weekend with penalty unless new player must pay 3 months before NZDG. No excuse!

15th August: Registration fee are due for New Zealand Deaf Games.

New Zealand Deaf Games Administrator Denise Godman will step down after this coming NZDG. Basil Kroon will take over her position as NZDG Administrator from 1st November 2010.

Wellington Deaf Society withdraw bid to host New Zealand Deaf Games 2011 due to impact of World Cup Rugby and will affect all the accommodations booked out and no volunteers are available. All agreed to cancel just for 2011 because the World Cup Rugby finals are happening at the same time.
