Auckland Deaf Society works hard to promote Deaf awareness in the wider community.

Deaf culture has a unique history. The Deaf community primarily uses NZSL to communicate and connects through shared understanding and experiences. We don’t see Deafness as a medical condition. Rather, it is part of our cultural and linguistic identity.
